Klass Loundres - People

Mark Elton was made a bard of the Cornish Gorsedh in Newquay in September 2018, and used the opprtunity to harass local politicians.

Some members of the class have been known to hijack live television shows to give the Cornish perspective on processed meat. This is Mark Elton, Stephen Gadd & Tony Hak on the One Show, July 2014

Members of the class performed (part of) the wonderful Bewnans Ke at the 2014 Cornish language weekend, the first time this play has been performed in around 500 years.

Here we have Ke (Roger) meeting King Tewdar (Mark), his counsellor (Penny) and messenger (David).

Members of the class often get thirsty and like to combine rehydration with gossiping in Cornish.

This photo was taken at a 'Yeth an Werin' (Cornish speaking gathering), which are held each Thursday over the summer at The Angel pub in Covent Garden.

There is a strict dress code for teachers at the Cornish class.

Polin Prys (centre) is the class organiser. Polin is a member of the Cornish Language Board and former chair, a member of the Single Written Form review board, and a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedd. She divides her time between London and Falmouth.

Gari Retalek is a long-standing teacher at the class and Grand Bard impersonator.

Mark Trevethan is a class teacher, a member of the Cornish Language Board and a Bard of the Cornish Gorsedd.

Members of the class like nothing better than to perform high-brow drama. Despite this, they staged a performance of Polin Prys's play 'Murder at the Gorsedd' at the annual Cornish language weekend at Newquay in April 2013.
